Sam and his
family are committed Christians and visit Sri Lanka
often they have great support from all their families
and friends here in the UK and in Sri Lanka. The Friends
of Helplanka continue to offer advice, help and financial
assistance and have a great love for Sri Lanka and its
people and believe in the importance of helping all
communities within the country. In addition to his work
for Helplanka, Sam consults for The UK Sri Lanka Trauma
Group of which he is also an Executive Committee Member
and The Association of Professional Sri Lankans in the
UK. Sam is also an Executive Director of Jigsaw International
- a partner of Helplanka working with traumatised children.
Sam has long been associated with the travel industry
and his travelling has brought him into contact with
a global network of friends and business associates
who were ready to assist Helplanka in its relief activities
and post Tsunami efforts. The management, organisation
and marketing skills Sam has put to good use in the
Commercial world have been very successfully implemented
for Helplanka, especially in organising events, fundraising
and motivating & managing the team of Trustees!
