Sanjaya
Kodituwakku
Sanjaya Kodituwakku is a qualified accountant
with over 15 years of experience in finance and accounting,
including 5 years working as the financial controller
for EMG formally Deloitte & Touche Emerging Markets
Group. He brings first hand experience of working on
donor funded projects and has worked with DFID’s
challenge funds, Nigeria Bureau of Private Enterprise
(DFID) and the UN’s Slum Upgrading Facility (SUF).
He will bring excellent project management skills to
Helplanka as well as being able to offer specific advice
on Sri Lankan Culture with his excellent command of
Sinhala and being a practicing Buddhist. Sanjaya is
married to Lushani also involved with Helplanka and
they have 2 children. In addition, both Sanjaya and
Lushani are active members of the Association of Professional
Sri Lankans in the UK.
Sanjaya has visited several countries in his official
capacity at Emerging Markets Group and seen at first
hand the work of donors advising on projects, ranging
from work plans and budget forecasting, to procurement
processes and contractual negotiations. Having managed
the disbursement of many grant facilities, he will be
able to ensure that proper administrative procedures
are in place to be managed efficiently and accountably
within the Charity. His accounting experience will also
enable him to guide and support the proper financial
management of Helplanka.
